The most likely paper to check would be the Temple Daily Telegram. Fortunately, the Temple Public Library has archives of the obits going back to the late 1800s from this paper AND they have them indexed. For a minimal charge (I think $1.00 plus postage), they will look for the obit as long as you have an approximate date. Contact Mike Kelsey at the Temple Public Library:
