Hi Pat,

I may be able to help a little. There were two Wheat families in Bell Co. in
the 1850 - 1860 censuses. I think that M. M. was probably Malitta, wife of
Joseph (my line). The other family was Samuel & Cynthia (Chapman) Wheat (maybe
your line). I think that Joseph was Samuel's son. They both traveled from
Alabama via Arkansas. Do you have an approximate dob for your James W.?
