Today's Ancestry Newsletter article about Probate records prompts my
question of what probate records are available for Bell County. I'm hoping
someone on the list can answer a couple of questions.

I have a female ancestor that died in Bell County between 1887 and 1894 and
was survived by her husband. Would there be a probate record for a married
female? Are there records for that time period?

I have a male ancestor that died in Bell County on Oct 11, 1898. Are there
records from that time period? His newspaper obituary states he was
survived by two children and I only know of one. I'm hoping a probate
record would tell me the other child.
