I delayed replying because I thought I could put my hands on
some info on another George W. Raney, but ended up not finding it. Found a "John C.," instead. All I can tell you is that the George Washington Raney buried in Resthaven lies amid many well-documented family members. His father was David Jones Raney, b. 1813 in Kentucky. George took in my
husband's grandfather (and sister Fessie) after they were orphaned at an early age. I haven't worked the Raney line for several months, but I will keep you in mind if and when I run into a George W. Raney again. Where are the land grants you mentioned?
