I had not noticed that he had passed away. I talked to him a couple of months ago at a
meeting pertaining to roads. He and I had several conversations over the years.
He coveted an old model T fire truck that belonged to my father in law. The truck was used
by the Copperas Cove fire department many years ago. My father in law converted it to a
'flat bed' and used it to haul cedar out of the backside of the place. It is still setting
in a shed next door at my mother in law's place.
I am really sorry about what seems to be an early death; he was a very good man.
I have cut out the obit and will send it if you send me an address...

If there is anyone in the Bell County area that could get me a copy of an obituary for my
cousin, James Warren Cowan II who died in Temple on Friday, March 21, 2003 I would greatly
appreciate it. If you will email me I can send my address where it could be mailed or if
you could scan it and email it to me that would be wonderful.
Jim Cowan was a lifelong resident of Bell County who worked as an engineer for the Texas
Department of Transportation. He knew every road, nook and cranny in Bell County. His
death is a tremendous loss to the Cowan family and to Bell County.
