Jackie,
Sarah Herndon is buried on Donahue Road, just north of the Donahue Cemetery
east of Bartlett where the community of Donahue was located. I have an
article that appeared in the Temple Telegram some years ago. Mrs. Herndon
was born in 1800 and died in 1863. Are we talking about the same person.
The article tells the story of how she was going to visit the McKay family
when she drowned. The article also tells how someone cleans the grave and
puts new flowers on it every year, but no one has ever witnessed the grave
being cleaned.

I'm sending the article to you privately. It has a photo of the headstone.
I have a photo of the gravesite that I took myself, but haven't located it
yet. I'll send that on when I find it.
