I have just started looking at the Simmons data in regard to my Liles and Griffin families. The Simmons related to mine came from AR...so I suspect that yours are related to mine.

I live in North Little Rock, which is near the Arkansas History Commissiono where we have great state records. In the next few days I hope to go there to see what they have on the Simmons family.

My Simmons is Walter, who married Lola Liles. His other name is given variously as Joseph and John.

While I don't have anything at present on your family, if you will send me as much data as you can, I will gladly look for your folks as I research my own.

I do know that between 1846 and 1850 there was a large migration of people from NW AR to Central Texas. There was another one b/w 1856 and 1860 from SE AR...it is possibly that your folks were part of one of these groups.

I am researching my great-grandmother, Della Elizabeth Simmons who was born
in 1873 in Arkansas and died in Bell County in 1904. I believe that she may be
the daughter of John Simmons born in Arkansa and Callie Simmons born in Texas
that appeared in Milam County census in 1880. Is any researching this line
and do you have any information that may confirm or disprove this theory?
