The Poor Farm was in Tennessee Valley and lies at the bottom of Lake Belton
now. It is just northwest of East Belton Cemetery. However, I am thinking
that the East Belton Cemetery was previously referred to as the East Belton
Negro Cemetery. Joe can correct me if I am wrong on that. I stated earlier
that Mitt Garner was buried in South Belton Cemetery but I was wrong, it is
the East Belton Cemetery.

I wonder if the Poor Farm Cemetery that was publicized last year (July
and Sept. 2003 archives) on IH-35 near Pepper Creek might have been
referred to as the East Belton Cemetery also, since it was northeast of
town. It seems to have been a "lost" cemetery with no records, until the
Highway Department publicized it last year.
