Some good news, mostly bad. I did find the death record for S. G. Howard at the Bell County Clerk's office. The bad news is that in 1906 the death record consisted of one or two lines written in a huge ledger book. So there is no name of father listed.

Date recorded: June 22, 1906
Name S. G. Howard
white male 52 yrs.
Date of death: June 12, 1906 9:00 ?
Place: Bland
Cause: Dysentery
Physician: S. A. Watts, Moffat, Texas
This is a different date of death than you had but I think this is right. Let me know if you need anything else. cindy
