Leola,

The early records for Resthaven cemetery were kept on 3x5 cards by my
cousin, Millard Herring who was the caretaker of that cemetery for many
years. One of the members of the Cemetery Association has those records
now. I have been trying to get someone to help us get copies of those for
years but haven't been able to locate the person who has them.

I believe that Phillips and Luckey funeral home was bought by the Heartfield
brothers. You might try contacting Heartfield Funeral home in Belton.

Joe,
I understand in some cases where a cemetery is relocated there is a
government record created including the name, cemetery and where the
grave was relocated. I attempted to locate the mortuary named in the
book, but had no luck with an online directory. Information in one
cemetery book indicated Phillips and Luckey funeral directors of Belton
carried out the reinternment of remains and placement of gravemarkers.
"Included were many unknown." If this operation was funded by a
goverment agency there should be some paperwork somewhere.
