Thanks for the Welcome. I have researched some through the Bell County
digital Library and I have seen your name so often that I feel I know you.
Your hard work is appreciated by everyone, I'm sure.

I think I neglected to say that I am a blinded veteran and my reading is
restricted to Tx State Library recorded books which have far too few family
history and genealogy transcriptions. I am so pleased to find the number of
digital libraries availabble on the computer growing so rapidly. I suppose
I should explain for those who are unfamiliar with computers equipped with
programs that enable blind folks to keep up with technology Rather than the
mouse, I use keyboard commands to manipulate the computer. A program called
JAWS seperates the text from the rest of the stuff on the screen and
converts it into text only format. An optical scanner converts text into
speech and thus the computer "Reads" to me. If I receive a letter--other
than hand written- I can place the letter or document or journal in the
scanner, scan it to the hard drive and the same conversion enable me to hear
the scanned document as speech. I can search the web the same as sighted
folks do and if I find information I want, I can save on the Favorites Menu
or convert to Word documents and save that way. I know all this has nothing
to do with genealogy but thought it might be necessary to mention once.

Back to you, Joe. I have been able to search the cemeteries and files, and
so forth by using the search engines on the various Bell County websites.
And I joined the Texas Czech E-mail group a few years ago and found many
helpful cousins. So, I would ask you if it would be appropriate for me to
do a brief outline of what I know so far about my family? I do have some
things which I haven't been able to find out about and I am hoping that some
of the members here might be able to help me fill in the gaps. Please
advise me.

Thank You,

George.
