Dear List,
I have recently purchased a group of old cabinet card family photos near Ft.
Worth, TX. I believe these families are connected as they were all in one
large batch. Only a handfull of these pictures were identified.
The Lewllyn (that is the spelling) photos that I purchased are as follows:
(1) Mr. & Mrs. Julian Lewllyn, Conroe, TX written on back. Photo taken by
C. R. Blackburn Studio, Houston, (Harris Co.)TX., which is imprinted on the
front of the cabinet card.
(2) Sarah Ann Llwellyn, age 16 mo., written on the back. Photo taken by
Miller Studio, Marlin (Falls Co.) TX., imprinted on the folder.
(3) "Shazzie" age 4 1/2 mo., is written on the front of this cabinet card
photo. On the back side it says "Mrs. Lewellyn". Photo taken by Wilcox Studio,
Georgetown, (Williamson Co.) TX., printed on the front of the card.
(4) Mary Frances Llewellyn, age 3 yrs. Photo taken by Gray Studio, 502 1/2
Main St., Houston (Harris Co.) TX.
In addition to the above listed photos, I also got some additional photos
which probably/possibly connect to the Lewellyn family. Names on these photos
are
(5) C. Lamoin Waters (infant), photo taken Temple (Bell Co.) TX:
(6) "Frankie" (young woman). Has the name Dr. J. A. Westerfield, Temple &
McGregor (McLennan Co) TX written on the back.
(7) Edwin Hailey: boy @ 4 yrs old in knickers: no location on photo. "To
Uncle Henry & Aunt Beckie) written on card.
(8) Mrs. J. S. Gasendus (spelling is unclear) on 85th birthday: no location.
(9) Hildagard Marshal: photo taken by Chicago Gallery, San Diego, San Diego
Co. CA.
(10) Kurtiz Weston & Bess Bull: no location. The first name is not really
clear. These are two young women all dressed up. I am hoping somebody can
connect them to the Lewellyn family. No location on this photo.
I am a longtime amateur genealogist and history nut. It has always
bothered me to see these wonderful old photos fade away in the Texas sun. Thus, my
small mission to try to save and return these family photos whenever I can. I
do try to recoup my costs. When I first began this mission, I returned photos
at no cost. However, I soon realized I could not continue to do that.
So, if any of these photographs may belong to your family or you are
interested in them, please contact me privately at . I am able to
describe the photo in some detail for anybody interested. Most are in excellent
condition.
Thank you, Judy in TX
