Don't worry about it! If you hadn't let us all know about it, we'd never have known we had an opportunity.
I wonder if the seller would contact the current bidder.
Maybe something could be worked out to get papers scanned if the library does not have copies.
Have a good day.

I received an e-mail last night from someone who spends a lot of time at the museum, telling me the museum has the papers on microfilm and probably did not have room for the papers. She gave me the address of the museum curator, but unfortunately I deleted her message instead of contacting the museum. I am really sorry I started something without checking first. I suffer from a bad case of speak now, be sorry later. I live in Austin and have not had an opportunity to visit the museum, although I have been wanting to for a long time.

If Joan wins I will contribute what I can to the cost. I checked out what I could about the other bidder, and since eBay shows 1639 transactions with 2403 positive feedbacks (637 in the last 12 months) received, I feel that person is a dealer. If I'm wrong, it wouldn't be the first time!

Just to clarify, the Bell County Museum does not have any newspapers of any
sort on microfilm. Were you meaning the library?
