You might try checking the 1920 and 1930 census, it would give her
occupation.

Message Board Post:
I recently acquired copy of a book of poetry and short stories called
"Scribblings", written by Laurie Anne Hammack. There is no indication on it
that it was ever published. Apparently, she gave it to Shelby Taylor, a
cousin of my father's. He passed it down to his sister, who later gave it
to my father years later. I think that Miss Hammack may have been a school
teacher in Bell Co. during the 1920's. That is the timeframe my father and
his cousin attended school there. Also, there are references to the years
1923 and 1928 in some of the poetry in the book. Does anyone have any
information on Laurie Anne Hammack or any information on whether she indeed
was a teacher in Bell Co. and where she taught. Any information would be
much appreciated.
