Hi,
I made it down to the library to find the obituary of John J. Brink. John J. Brink's mother, Anna Hasdorff Brink, was the oldest sister of my grandfather James Jackson Hesdorff(Hasdorff).
The following is the obituary I found in the August 20, 1945 edition of the San Antonio Light newspaper:
"BRINK - John J. Brink residence 1317 West Mistletoe Avenue, died Saturday, August 18, in his forty third year. He was a member of the Victory Lodge, A.F. & A.M. and Alzafar Shrine. Survivors: widow Thelma Brink; daughter, Mrs. J.W. Campbell; son, Johnny J. Brink Jr.; parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.P. Brink; sisters, Mrs. Viola Guenther, Mrs. Jackie Reisling, Mrs. Florence Lance, Mrs. Helen Hanson, Mrs. Peggy Steppenback; brothers, Allen, Ray and Alvin Brink. Funeral services Tuesday, August 22 at 4 p.m. from the chapel of Akers Funeral Home. Interment Sunset Memorial Park. Arrangements by Roy Akers."
Take care,
Ron Hesdorff

Hi -- I just returned from SA where I got a lot of the obituaries -- don't remember which ones of Brink that I got. If you do get this one -- forward it to me too -- in case I didn't get it. I got all the old ones in the main set of drawers. There was another file cabinet that I didn't have time to go through.
However, I am traveling at this time and can't send it to you. (Actually I am snowed in CO Springs. I was in Houston for 3 months. I was afraid to go over the passes. Weather is getting worse this weekend. Lots of snow and ice in Meeker CO where I live.
Have found out more Brink/Sido information. I have the probate record for August Sido -- original land owner Bexar County. His land was next to the land that Michael Brink claimed.
Michael's wife ?Rosana Sido Brink was the sister of August Brink. Michael probated the property for August Sido. Apparently August and Rosana's sister and brother, and other kin didn't approve.
My ancestral great great grandparents, Joseph and Julia Siedo/Sido Gussen came to San Antonio and stopped Michael from selling the land through probate. There was another sister and brother, Martin Sido (of Wisconsin) who gave power of attorney to my Joseph Gussen. Julia's brother, John L Siedo, came to Texas. It is confusing, but there might be another John Sido.
The land was sold from the Brinks to John L Siedo/Sido for $1. I haven't had time to go back to land records on line and follow the property.
In any case, I have a lot to put together when I get home. Keeping in touch
Mary Lee Gussen Sloan
