Hello Rose,
Appreciate your response. Is the Kirby cemetery a black cemetery or is it
mixed? A friend knew of a cemetery out there but did not know the name of it.
He drove out there and said there is some Richardson Funeral Home markers that
are readable.
The people that I am searching for are; Sarah Damron MARCUM, died 1860, is
said to be in unknown grave in that cemetery.
Robert MARCUM, ON 1860 AR Mortality Schedule (don't know burial place)
Richard MARKHAM, died 22 Dec 1927 in Bowie County according to newspaper obit
and Probate records (have been unable to locate death record at Courthouse or
Texarkana City Hall)
Mary Jane (SMITH) MARKHAM (1st wife of Richard)
When Sarah Marcum died in 1860, Richard and older brother Thomas Markham went
to live with some people, husband named Joe KIRBY in the Buchanan area.
Thought maybe at time of deaths, they may have ended up in the same cemetery.
After death of Mary Jane, Richard married in 1905 a Ms Mary CAPPS, widow of
Sam CAPPS. I found the gravesite of Mary Capps Markham in Eylau Cemetery along
with her son Sam Jr. His father, Sam Capps was not in that cemetery.
Any help that anyone has to offer will be greatly appreciated.
