Thanks so much for sharing this information. Our Autrey family from Dubach,
Lincoln Parish, La., had a daughter, Martha Ann "Mattie" Autrey, daughter of
Absalom and Elizabeth (Norris) Autrey, married Abraham R. Reed in 1873 in
Lincoln Parish but returned to Bowie.

According to the Absalom Autrey book, Abraham Reed was the son of Jonas and
Susan (Dykes) Reed and was born 26 January 1842 in Kentucky. His father
served under General Sam Houston at the Battle of San Jacinto in 1836.
Abraham Reed was a farmer in Bowie County, Texas. He and his first wife,
Celia, were living there in 1869 when their son, Albert N. Reed, was born.

Abraham Reed died 10 December, 1906 and Martha died 23 December 1923. It is
not noted in the Absalom Autrey book where they were buried. They had 6
children, all born in Bowie County. They were: Sarah E., Susan Adealia,
Spencer R., Ida, Abraham and Mitchell B.

This is almost all the information I have on this Reed family. I would like
to know if this Reed family is related to anyone in the Reed Cemetery you
are discussing.

If anyone has any information on this Reed family or the cemetery, please
contact me.

Is there a list available for this cemetery? Whom would one contact to find
this information?

Thanks for any information anyone can share with me.

Jo Autrey
