good afternoon,i am seeking information on slaves in northeast texas.my grandmother mary richardson was born april23,1900 in atlanta,texas to john richardson and everline oliver.everline oliver was the daughter of bonds[barnes]oliver and hagar campbell.bonds[barnes]said he came from africa to gal'weston[galveston]as a boy.hagar campbell was the daughter of andrew and reneccah[becky]campbell.john richardson was the son of miles richardson and fannie carey.on the 1867 voter registration records miles said he came to texas from upson county,georgia in 1856.he was the slave of drury gilbert and upon the death of drury gilbert his widow sold miles to her neices husband eli burkett for $4,000.00.on the 1870 census miles is listed with his family on page 64 as well as his parents and his other brother julius and his family this is on the 1870 census of davis[cass]county,texas.anyone with any information that can assist me is greatly appreciated ?thank you-muhammad abdullah-p.o.box !
