Yesterday I received two family marriage certificates from 1907 and 1915 Bowie County. It was like an early Christmas opening that envelope. The odd thing was that I had looked at the site several times and had not noticed the names of the brides. Then, a couple of weeks ago they clicked! I had been looking for maiden names and suddenly remember that one of the great-aunts had been married once before and found her certificate under her first married name! So, be sure to look at all possibilities!

I want to reiterate what Doris is saying. About two weeks ago, I received
two of my family's ORIGINAL marriage certificates from 1921 and 1928. Again
... these are THE ORIGINAL certificates with county seals and original
signatures. They were framed and they will be sent to their surviving
children. The family will cherish them FOREVER.
PLEASE, PLEASE check this direct link; you may be VERY, VERY surprised

I reimbursed the Texarkana USA Genealogical Society $3.00 each for postage
and handling. I willing to wager the respective families wouldn't take
several 100 times that for them once they see them.
To the Texarkana USA Genealogical Society - THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU
!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I feel that I can safely assume you have family or ancestors from the Bowie
County area since you are a member of this mail list. If so, won't you
please visit the website of the Texarkana USA Genealogical Society at
www.rootsweb.com/~txkusa/GenSoc.html and view the listing of Unclaimed
Marriage Certificates. The Society still holds several thousands of
original certificates of marriages performed in Bowie County.
This type item can be a treasure to a family member. Yes, the Society does
have a small postage & handling fee; but you can't obtain a copy of the
record at the courthouse for this amount.
If you do not have a family member listed; but know someone who does, please
contact them by phone or regular mail. They may not be computer equipped
and have the online opportunities that we do.
If you have questions about a certificate, you may contact me at the e-mail
above or at
Thanks for your time,
