Surname: Medearis, Martin, Smith, Lewis

Has anyone ever come across the name Medearis? I ordered and received a
death certificate for my grandmother, IDA MAE MEDEARIS MARTIN, born 1880
in Brown County, Texas. However, when I tried to get a birth certificate,
a birth for her did not show up in Brown County. One of my uncles middle
name was Mae - I was told that he was named for a town named Mae in Brown
county. I am also looking for the parents of LUCINDA SMITH, born 1874 in
Texas; I have no idea where but am checking counties that I have been told
have Smith's. It is said that Lucinda's father was a preacher. Lucinda
was the grandmother of my husband. Would appreciate any information.
