I found William Alford Nichols in the 1860 Henderson Co. TN census. He was born November 10, 1858. Married Sara Ann Taylor in Henderson Co 1878. Moved with Stephen Taylor family (Sara's father) to Florence around 1879. Stephen Taylor opened a gin in Briggs. I have information on the Taylor line. My brickwall is on William Alford.
