Dear List,

I recently purchased at a flea market in Texas two old Sewell family photos.
They are both the old "cabinet card" style. I have always hated to see these
wonderful old photos fade away in the Texas sun, so I try to rescue the few
that are identified and hopefully return them to their family.

The larger card is 6 1/2 X 4 1/4. I suspect it was taken in the 1890's. It
was taken by C. L Hickson, Photographers in Lockhart, Caldwell Co. TX. This
photo is of a toddler named Lillian Myrtle Sewell. Identification, written in
ink, is on the back side of the card. This photo is in excellent condition.
It is clear and has no damage.

The second card is smaller, measuring 4X2 1/2. It is an oval portrait style
photo of an older man, with a beard, bow tie and hat. It is identified on the
back as P. J. Sewell. Identification is written on the back of the card.
This photo has a small amount of fading, but is otherwise in good condition. The
face of Mr. Sewell is clear.

I bought these two photos from the same stack, so I know they have to be
related. If this is your family, and you are interested in these photos, please
contact me privately.

Thank you, Judy in TX
