William Wesley Samuel Davis, retired farmer, died at his home 725 S Commerce, Tuesday morning, Nov 27, at 3:00 a.m. and was buried Wed. morning at 10:00 a.m. Rev E. L. Clark of the First Baptist Church conducted services from Field Funeral home.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs Lavada Davis; a brother, H. M. Davis of Paint Rock; and children, Mrs. C.H. Av y and Mrs. R.A. Stowe of San Antonio, Mrs. Crystal Wilson of Lockhart, Mrs. B O. Lehman of Austin, Mrs. Ben Mason of Pecos, James W Davis of San Antonio, and Thomas T Davis of Lockhart.
Pallbearers were Robert Blundell, Dan Butler, Thomas Armstrong, and Glenn Butler.
Mr Davis was born Mar. 9, 1863 in Durham, North Carolina, son of Thomas J Davis and Jennis Lyons. He came to Texas in 1871 and in 1889 he married Lavada Howell in Hays County, Texas. He came to Caldwell County in Jan. 1898.
He joined the Baptist Church here. He had retired from farming at the time of his death.
