Yes, Brownsboro that I spoke of is in the area you identified. Some of the land in the area is stil owned by members of the Brown family. It is very close to Lockhart, and about 40 minutes from Bastrop.
The Brown family moved into this area from Dallas County, Arkansas after the Civil War. They originated in Caswell Co., NC.
By 1880, my gg.grandfather, Tom Tyree Brown, was living in Luling. Your email didn't identify where in Caldwell County that Levi and Maggie were living. I will look at the cencus to see if I can identify any of their neighbors. They married into the Ellison and Dillard families.
