I have a birth certificate for Needham Dierlam (my great grandfather) showing parents John Dierlam and Kate Coward, and stating John Dierlam served in the Civil War. The info I have for Kate says she was born 1848 in Calcasieu Parish Louisiana, and died in Seadrift. Her great-grandfather was Needham Dierlam, a Revolutionary War Patriot recognized by the DAR.

George and Mary Dierlam and family came to Indianola from Germany 1848. They're on the 1850 census of Calhoun County as "Delam."

I'd love to compare notes with anyone researching this line. Please contact me :)
