Hi! I'm looking for info on John Henry (Johnnie) Schmidt and family. Also
any info on the business he ran in Port Isabel (Schmidt Fisheries and Marine
Ways, Inc.) for over 25 years. Here are the particulars:
Born: 09/07/01; died 01/14/56
Married: Sammie Long in 1923, in Granbury, TX
Children: Johnnie Marie (m. James D. Goodrich, had 3 children)
Rosemary (m. Robert Bell, had 3 children)
Johnnie was a member of the Elks Brownsville Lodge #1032 for many years,
served on the Texas Elks State Association Borad of Trustees and was Chairman
of that board during his fifth year at the time of his death. He had also
lost his right arm in an accident in 1929.
He moved to Port Isabel in 1931 and started his business in 1934; after his
death, his son-in-law R. Bell, managed the business.
I would love to hear from any relatives or anyone who knew/knows of them and
would be happy to share more information.
