Catholic Archives of Texas, Church of Immaculate Conception, The groom's name is Francisco Cisneros, son of Francisco Cisneros and Manuela Gutierrez (family originally from Matamoros and Brownsville areas). The bride's name is Estefana Trevino, daughter of Julian Trevino and Josefa Tovar. The couple wed on August 12, 1878.

My grandfather, Manuel Maria Cisneros was baptized in January 1881. He was born in September, 1880.

We do not know when Francisco was born. My uncle, Ralph Cisneros, a mayor of Raymondville wrote a short story that was published in a book, "Rio Grande Round-up." Based on the short story, I know that my great grandfather had a brother. My father used to tell us that we had family in Brownsville, but I nor any of my older cousins can remember anything else.

My great grandmother was born in the Reynosa area. She was a widow with four young children when my great grandfather married her. She had been married to Pedro Garcia; he died from a fall during a roping incident at Rancho Campo Verde. I can only assume that my great grandfather lived at Rancho Campo Verde, where he met his future bride. We have at least three letters that he wrote with a return address of Rancho Campo Verde.

Additionally, my great grandfather was killed by an assilant between 1890 and 1895. We do not know his death date. Uncle Manuel Cisneros told a Raymondville historian by the name of Mrs. Nola Harding that his grandfather (my great grandfather) was buried at Las Rucias toward Wilamar. We have not been able to locate his gravesite or his death certificate. He also told this historian that his great grandfather's mother was of Indian decent and lived inwhat is El Sauz Ranch. Mrs. Harding gave my parents a copy of her typed notes.

Stories told to us were that my great grandfather was killed by a brother of a well known Raymondville family. We have a letter that he has written to an attorney asking for help to collect a debt owed to his wife, Estefana.

In 1895, Estefana left Rancho Campo Verde and bought 350 acreas in Hidalgo County. She named her ranch Los Vergeles. I have copies of those deeds. When she purchased the land, the deed reads, Estefana, widow of Francisco Asis Cisneros. The last letter written by him that we have copy of with a return address of Rancho Campo Verde is dated 1890.

Thank you so much for investing time in helping me. I appreciate it tremendously.
