MARCIAL H. ALVARADO, 87, of Brownsville passed away on Friday, March 17,
2006 at Val-ley Regional Medical Center. Funeral arrangements are pending

WINFRED RIDDLE, 92, of Brownsville, passed away on Thursday, March 16, 2006

ANTONIO SANCHEZ, 50, passed away on Friday, March 17, 2006 at Valley

CHARLEEN MAY ADAMS, 79, passed away on Friday, March 17, 2006 at her

FAUSTINA BARRIOS

Faustina Barrios, 69, passed away on Thursday, March 16, 2006 at Valley
Regional Medical Center in Brownsville.

She was preceded in death by her father, Faustino Barrios.

Faustina, is survived by her mother, Eugenia Barrios; her daughter, Alicia
Garcia; brothers, Antonio (Antonia) Barrios and Rafael Barrios; her sisters,
Juanita Barrios, Tomasa (Alfredo) Fernandez, Guadalupe (Feliciano) Alvarado,
Rita (Ernesto) Garcia, Cleofas (Salvador) Amaro, and Maria (Guadalupe)
Limon; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday, March 18, 2006
at Treviño Funeral Home.

Visitation will resume from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. with recitation of the holy
rosary at 7 p.m. on Sunday, March 19, 2006.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, March 20, 2006 at
Treviño Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Santa Rosalia
Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Treviño Funeral Home, 1355

ELISA C. CASTRO

Elisa C. Castro, 69, of Brownsville, entered into eternal rest on March 15,
2006 at Valley Regional Medi-cal Center.

She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, her greatest love were her
grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Cristobal and Margarita Hinojosa
Cisneros and by a son, Javier Castro.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Francisco Castro; a son, Cesar
(Rosie) Castro; two daugh-ters, Sonia (Juan) Alonso and Elsa Castro; a
brother, Noe Cisneros; three sisters, Irma Cisneros, Evange-lina Martinez
and Juanita C. Ramirez; several nieces and nephews; five grandchildren,
Javier Castro Jr., Amanda Castro, Anel Alonso, Ariza Alonso and Angela
Castro; and one great-granddaughter, Alyssa Castro.

Funeral Mass will be held at 2 p.m. today, Saturday, March 18, 2006 at St.
Luke's Catholic Church. Bur-ial to follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

RAMIRO SALAS

Ramiro Salas, 67, passed away Thursday, March 16, 2006 at Valley Regional
Medical Center.

Mr. Salas is survived by his wife, Trinidad Salas; eight sons, Mario Valdez,
Eugenio Valdez, Paulo Fal-duto, Eutemio Falduto, Alejandro Falduto, Ernesto
Falduto, Rolando Falduto and Ramiro Rodriguez; five daughters, Julia Cantu,
Rachel Gamez, Antonia Vega, Catarina Falduto, and Cipriana Mata; a sister,
Glo-ria Zapata; two brothers, Ruben Salas and Salvador Zapata; 36
grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren

Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a holy rosary to be
recited at 7 p.m. on Sunday, March 19, 2006 at Garza Memorial Funeral Home.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday March 20, 2006 at Holy Family
Catholic Church. Inter-ment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Benny Cantu Jr., Eric Cantu, Natale Falduto, Alex
Falduto Jr., Joe Anthony Falduto, and Ernie Falduto Jr.

FRANCISCO ZAPATA

Francisco Zapata, 49, entered into eternal rest with the Lord on Friday,
March 17, 2006 at Valley Re-gional Medical Center in Brownsville, Texas.

He is survived by his loving wife, Maria Dolores Q. Zapata; parents, Roberto
Manuel Zapata and Maria Alicia Hernandez de Zapata; his sisters and
brothers, Jesse, Roberto, Antonia, Teresa, Elvira, Rosario, and Aurora
Zapata and Santos, Maria Luisa, Rigoberto Hernandez; numerous nieces and
nephews.

There will be no local services. Funeral services for Mr. Zapata will be
held at Funerales Inhumaciones Olvera in Matamoros, Tamps., Mexico.

Local funeral arrangements are under the direction of Guerra Funeral Home of
Brownsville, 3955 Cof-fee Port Road. (956) 544-1171.

JOHN FRANCIS

John Francis, 67, passed away today, March 17, 2006 at Valley Regional
Medical Center.

He was a member of First Baptist Church and worked in Mexico Missions for 30
years. John served his country as a captain in the U.S. Air Force during the
Vietnam Conflict and flew many missions over Vietnam.

SGT. RUBEN GUAJARDO JR.

Sgt. Ruben Guajardo, Jr. entered into eternal rest on March 12, 2006.

Sgt. Guajardo was born on September 19, 1982 to Ruben A. and Maria Guajardo
in Brownsville, Texas. He joined the Army in June 2001 and was stationed in
Ft. Steward, Georgia. He was deployed twice to Iraq as a medic.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Josephina
Cisneros-Gracia; cousin, Marisela Ramirez; uncle, Jesus A. Guajardo.

Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Ruben A. and Maria Guajardo;
sister, Cynthia Guajardo; brother, Leroy Guajardo; his paternal
grandparents, Tomas S. and Adela A. Guajardo; maternal grandfa-ther,
Napoleon Gracia; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Visitation was held from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. with a holy rosary recited at 7:30
p.m. on Friday, March 17, 2006 at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista.

A Mass will be held at 4 p.m. today, Saturday, March 18, 2006 at Christ the
King Catholic Church. Committal service will follow at Roselawn Memorial
Gardens with full military honors.

CONSUELO DELAUNAY COCHRAN

Consuelo Delaunay Cochran passed away on March 11, 2006 after a brief
illness.

She was born in Brownsville, Texas on December 3, 1916, to Edouard and
Sophia Geronima Delaunay. Consuelo was a life-long resident of the Valley.

She left Brownsville just before the outbreak of World War II to work in
California. While there, she met Garnet Buckley Cochran and they were
married in Richmond a short time later. Both were associ-ated with Standard
Oil of California, and upon Buck's retirement from the company, they
traveled the U.S. extensively before settling in Los Fresnos. They enjoyed
painting, and encouraged all their nieces and nephews to do so as well.

Consuelo is preceded in death by her husband Buck as well as her brother,
Dieudonne and sister, Lydia.

She leaves behind two brothers, Albert and Hector Delaunay and a sister,
Alice Shugert of El Paso, Texas, as well as numerous extended family.

A rosary was held at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 17, 2006 at Darling Mouser
Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. today, Saturday, March 18, 2006 at
Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Buena Vista
Burial Park.

Pallbearers will be David Gerard Delaunay, Enrique Rodriguez, Pedro
Gonzalez, Joshua Gonzalez, David Boyd and David Soto.

Honorary pallbearers will be Hector Delaunay, Eduardo Alberto Delaunay,
Patricia Delaunay, Urika Delaunay, Michael Delaunay, Daniel Delaunay, David
Lee Delaunay and Audrey Soto.
