VICTOR MANUEL RIOS
Victor Manuel Rios, Sr., 49, entered into eternal rest with the Lord Sunday,
July 23, 2006, at Valley Regional Medical Cen-ter in Brownsville.
He was born January 24, 1957 in Harlingen to Arturo Rios and Lina Minerva
Martinez Rios. Mr. Rios served his country by enlisting in the U.S. Army in
1978.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Lina Minerva Martinez Rios.
Left to mourn his death and forever cherish his memory are his loving wife
of 31 years of marriage, Maria De Los Ange-les Rios; five children, Victor
Manuel (Angelica) Rios Jr., Jesus Jaime (Ivonne) Rios, Israel Angel Rios,
Christopher Lee Rios and Kristyna Marie Rios; his father, Arturo (Belinda)
Rios; three brothers, Arturo Javier Rios (Janie), Ricardo Antonio Rios
(Esther) and Miguel Antonio Rios; five sisters, Maria Elena Garza (Raul),
Olivia Rubio, Ofelia M. Rivera, Rosalinda Bowers (Erik) and Adriana Isabel
Hernandez (Jesus). Also surviving Mr. Rios are five grandchildren; numerous
nieces; nephews and other relatives.
Visitations will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. with a holy rosary to be recited
at 7 p.m. today, Tuesday, July 25, 2006, at Guerra Funeral Home "Chapel of
the Arch Angles."
Funeral Mass will be Thursday, July 27, 2006, at St. Luke Catholic Church,
2800 Rockwell with the time pending. Inter-ment will follow at Roselawn
Memorial Gardens with full military honors under VFW Post 2035.
Pallbearers will be Arturo Rios, Miguel Rios, Jesus Hernandez, Ricardo Rios,
Raul Garza, Erik Bowers, Arnold Rodri-guez and Carlos Urbano.
Honorary pallbearers will be Victor Manuel Rios, Jr., Jesus Jaime Rios,
Israel Angel Rios, Christopher Lee Rios, Isidoro Urbano Jr., Rene
Villarreal, Juan Luis Urbano, Martin Urbano, David Sosa, Ernesto Salinas,
Jesse Garcia, William Villa-sana and Sotero Pedraza.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Guerra Funeral Home
of Brownsville, 3955 Coffee Port Road, (956) 544-1171.
