LORENZO MACHUCA, 61, of San Benito passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2006, at
Valley Baptist Medical Center. A fu-neral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. today
at St. Benedict Catholic Church in San Benito. Interment will follow to San
Benito City Cemetery. Funeral arrangements under Thomae-Garza Funeral Home,
395 S. Sam Houston Blvd., San Benito, (956) 399-1331.




ESPERANZA GARCIA CASTILLO, 82, of San Benito passed away on Aug. 10, 2006,
at Valley Baptist Medical Center-Harlingen. There will be no local services.
Funeral services will be held at Funerarias Ramirez in Matamoros. Interment
will follow to Ejido Palo Blanco Cemetery. Funeral arrangements under
Thomae-Garza Funeral Home, 395 S. Sam Houston Blvd., San Benito, (956)
399-1331.




LOURDES C. SALAZAR
Lourdes C. Salazar, 75, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 10, 2006, at Valley
Baptist Medical Center-Brownsville.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Juan T. and Genoveva Carrejo;
sisters Oralia Rivera, Nerieda Cavazos and Yolanda Car-rejo.

She is survived by her daughters, Elsa S. Rodriguez, Emma S. Benavidez and
Lourdes (John) Gonzalez; grandchildren, Barbara Benavidez, Jessica Ramirez,
Lizette Ramirez, Claudia Rodriguez and Rene Rodriguez Jr., all of
Brownsville, Melissa (Rick) A. Tamayo of Harlingen and Amanda Ramirez of
Grand Prairie, Texas; great-grandchildren Brandon Solis, Ricardo Tamayo Jr.
and Lauren Tamayo; sisters Lydia Tamayo of Brownsville, Maria del Refugio
Melendez of Brownsville and Graciela Carrejo of Califor-nia; and numerous
nieces and nephews.

Special thanks to Valley Baptist Medical Center (MICU), doctors, nurses and
staff and Treviño Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held today, Saturday, Aug. 12, 2006, from 10 a.m. to 9
p.m. Visitation will resume from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. with reci-tation of the
holy rosary at 7 p.m., on Sunday, Aug. 13, 2006, at Treviño Funeral Home
Chapel.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 14, 2006, at Holy
Family Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park.

Pallbearers will be John Gonzalez, Rick Tamayo, Juan Pablo Gomez, Logan
Walker, Henry Gutierrez II, Rene Rodriguez Jr., Robert Gomez and Alfredo De
La Fuente.
