JOSE SOTO, 80, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2006, at Valley Regional
Medical Center. Funeral arrangements are pending under the care of Funeraria
Del Angel Buena Vista, 125 McDavitt Blvd., (956) 541-5400.




JOSEFINA L. RODRIGUEZ
Josefina L. Rodriguez, 68, went to be with the Lord on Monday, Nov. 27,
2006, in Palm Beach, Fla.

She will be greatly missed by her friends and family in Texas and Florida.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Eugenio Lopez and Ernestina M.
Lopez; sons Roberto Rodriguez and Reynaldo Villanueva; and grandson Jorge
Gaona.

She is survived by her children, Sylvia Rodriguez, Irma Villanueva, Danny
Villanueva, Jose Villanueva, and Perla Lopez; 11 grandchildren; five
great-grandchildren; her brothers and sisters, Guadalupe Rodriguez (Jose),
Antonio Lopez (Maria), Maria Zamarripa (Hector), Trine Hernandez (Antonio)
Gloria L. Flores (Sarvando), Blanca E. Rangel (Ramon) and Norma A. Garza
(Omar).

Visitation will be held today, Thursday, Nov. 30, 2006, from 10 a.m. to 9
p.m. with a holy rosary to be recited at 7:30 p.m. at Funeraria Del Angel
Buena Vista.

A chapel service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 1, 2006, at
Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista. Committal service will follow at Buena
Vista Burial Park.

Serving as pallbearers will be Danny Villanueva, Antonio Lopez, Juan
Castillo, Eugenio Rodriguez, Julio Gaona and Marco Osornio

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Funeraria Del Angel
Buena, vista, cemeteries, mausoleums and crematory, 125 McDavitt Blvd.

GUY BEVIL JR.
George Guy Bevil Jr., born in Brownsville, Texas on May 26, 1935, to George
Guy Bevil and Dorothy Vertrees Bevil, died on Oct. 10, 2006, in Little Rock,
Ark.

Guy graduated from Brownsville High School in 1953 and was recognized with
the Leslie Sills Award for Outstanding Student. He initiated and led the
successful effort to have Paul Harvey deliver the commencement address for
his graduation class.

He attended Baylor University and was an ordained youth minister at the
First Baptist Church of Corpus Christi and River Oaks Baptist Church in
Houston.

He founded and established the Amigos de las Americas in Houston in 1965.
The Amigos program trains teenagers to provide health and literacy care to
rural populations in Mexico, Central and South America while providing
meaningful leadership and life experiences to the young people who are
serving others. The Amigos program continues today and has in excess of
20,000 "veterans" who have served in foreign countries for the benefit of
the less fortunate.

A man of many talents, Guy also served in executive capacities with the
Gladys Porter Zoo, with the McAllen Chapter of the American Red Cross and
was most recently an entrepreneur as the owner of Bygones by Guy, an
antiques and collectibles store in Pharr.

Guy is survived by his sister, June Bevil Blankenship and her husband, Fred,
from Little Rock, Ark.;a brother, Craig Bevil and his wife, Mary, and their
daughters, Kristen and Lauren from Dallas.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 2, 2006, at
Calvary Baptist Church in McAllen. Burial will be at 2 p.m. the same day in
Brownsville at Buena Vista Burial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made on his behalf
