There is only one Busti that I know of, and it is Chautauqua County New York.
Far right corner of the state. I am familiar with Chautauqua Co as all of
one line of my family came from Westfield, Chat. Co., before heading west to
conquer the world of news and law :)

The best place to find info on Busti in Chautauqua Co. is the county website:
http://www.rootsweb.com/~nychauta/INDEX.HTM

They have two mail lists: the one through Rootsweb
and the original one for the county:
(Joining instructions on the web page)

They are sure to answer your question. Genealogy is much more advanced in NY
than what we have in the southern states that developed later.

Dana,
My gr gr uncle Thomas Burton BINNS, who lived in Busti and worked as a
farmer, was killed in the Civil War. I can't find his father, Charles
BINNS,
anywhere until he was buried in Philadelphia in 1889.
Would there be a newspaper (Busti area) that might carry Thomas's obit? He
died at the Battle of Cold Harbor June 1, 1864. I was hoping there might be
mention of Charles and the other family members. If there is a newspaper,
where would I find it on film?
