For anyone researching an ancestor who may have been a TX Ranger during
Republic times, this site is extremely helpful.

It is sorted & indexed in different ways for thorough searching. If you find
something of interest, it may be ordered online from the TX State Archives.

For instance, Capt J D Lilly's Special company is mentioned on the TSLAC site
but no details. The Texian site has his muster rolls transcribed & indexed.
So you can order all or part if you find your ancestor served under Lilley
who was buried at Iron Bluff Cemetery, Lone Star TX.
