I just received my grandfather's (Nathan William Gartman) death certificate - was surprised to find Cass CO TX listed as his place of birth. "Indian Territory" is listed as his place of birth on his marriage license and "OK" on the 1900 VanZandt CO TX census. Can a birth certificate of this vintage be ordered from Cass CO to confirm his place of birth?

Would appreciate any help in clearing up this mystery. My great-grandfather was a traveling preacher so his whereabouts for almost ten years are a complete mystery to me.
