I am trying to find any information I can relevant to my grandparents:
Roger Stafford Poindexter
Mary (nee Rigsby) Poindexter
Mary died in 1986, but I'm not sure of the death year of Roger. I belive
it was a few years earlier.
They both had lived in Jacksonville since the early 1950's, as did their
daughter, Gladys Poindexter, who at some point (I don't know when, exactly)
married Dr. R. T. (Tony) Travis, who was, I think, the founder of what used
to be called the Nan Travis Memorial Hospital, named for his first wife
after her death. I believe Dr. Tony had a brother, whom I only knew as Dr.
J.M. Travis.
I am new to the process of genealogy-hunting, and am trying to find any
information I can about my father's side of the family. I apologize if the
form of my questions is not correct and would gladly receive any hints
anyone would care to offer.
