Wade, I found this listing of a Tom & Ada buried at Mixon cemetery.
Thurman, Ada B. 11-4-1892 d.________ (married Tom 2-23-1911)
Thurman, Tom 8-18-1881 d. 3-16-1961
That cemetery was catalogued in the early 1970's thats why Ada may not have
a death date.

I also found Ada's obit. Maybe it will help a little.
Obit dated 2-7-1979 MRS. ADA THURMAN
RUSK-Funeral for Mrs. Ada Thurman, 87, 9F Rt. 3, Rusk, will be held at 10
a.m. Friday in the Wallace-Thompson funeral chapel at Rusk with the Rev.
A.D. Munsinger officiating.

Burial will be in the Mixon Cemetery.

Mrs. Thurman died Wednesday morning at her home at Rusk following an
extended illness. She was a member of the Missionary Baptist Church at Rusk
and had lived at Rusk for about 35 years.

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Viola Thomas of Rusk; a son, L.E.
Thurman of Lufkin; two sisters, Mrs. Belma Wallace and Mrs. Bernice
Williams, both of Rusk; two brothers, Alton Dover of Alto and Jack Dover of
Rusk; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Nephews will serve as pallbearers.

I am looking for information on some Thurmans from the Cherokee County
area (Rusk). I am looking for Ada (Dover) Thurman's husband (name is
believed to be George Tom). Her SS# is: 466-44-2189 Born 4-Nov-1891
Died Feb 1979.

I am just now getting started in this genealogy hunt - and I think that
finding who she was married to is the correct place to start.
