According to the Colorado County Marriage Records on the Nesbitt Memorial Library site accessible through the Colorado County TXGenWeb Moses was married to Nancy Colwell.

Book B, page 49: January 14, 1844, Moses Townsend marries Nancy Colwell; G. W. Gardener, Justice of the Peace, performs the ceremony.

It could be that she was really Nancy Caldwell and the clerk who issued the license misspelled her name.

I also find this record:

Book C, page 56: November 12, 1853, Moses Townsend marries Rebecca M. Younger; D. F. Payne, Justice of the Peace,
performs the ceremony.
