Subject: Request - Portal to Texas History Redesigned

Hello:

Will you please post a message --- included at the end of this message --- to the Comal County mailing list?

The IOGENE Project [http://iogene.library.unt.edu/] at the University of North Texas Libraries has been working with northeast Texas genealogical societies and individual family history researchers to redesign the Portal to Texas History [http://texashistory.unt.edu/].

In June 2009, we released a significant update to the Portal.

We are very interested in getting feedback about the redesigned Portal from individuals researching Texas ancestors and history.

Would you please help us by posting the message below to your county mailing list? If you are willing to do so, would you please let me know when you have posted the message?

Thanks for considering this request and please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions you may have!

Regards,

Kathleen

Subject: Portal to Texas History Redesigned

The Portal to Texas History at the University of North Texas (UNT) libraries has been redesigned with the help of genealogical societies and individual family history researchers in northeast Texas.

Please explore the redesigned Portal and take a few minutes to complete a brief survey about your experience!

The redesigned Portal will help genealogists:

· Discover anything from an ancestor's picture to a rare historical map.

· Explore resources for a specific Texas county.

· Read early Texas newspapers.

· Optimize searches using a Help Guide for Genealogical Materials.

We are very interested in feedback from people researching their Texas ancestors. The survey is also accessible from the footer and right sidebar of many Portal pages.

Thanks very much for your help!
