According to the book The First 100 Years Of Cooke County-the Gainesville College was opened On Sept 7 1891--closed at the end of 1893-94 term. Members of the faculty included, Miss Lou Belsher,intermediate classes,Prof. Barnett,languages and bookeeping,Helen K McGown of Tuscaloosa Ala.,music and W.C. Sanders of Austin,art.It didnt list a Sidney Smith as a principal so this may not be the same College. Didn't find him listed anywhere else in the book. No other business college listed
