You may be referring to The Center for American History. I was able to
obtain a copy of an obituary in a 1940 edition of the Dallas News from The
Center (Sid Richardson Hall 2.101, Austin TX 78712). Information is on The
Texas GenWeb site. The website gave the call number/box number for the
obit. Response was reasonably quick (about 2 weeks), but the price was kind
of high, I thought - $0.25 for the copy and $6.00 for handling/mailing.
