Abstracted from "Bonham News" 16 Dec 1898 issue: Thurs. night last week, C.B. Wheeler of near Gober was accidentally killed near Commerce. Returning from Commerceon bus. trip, next day dead body found pinned down by overturned wagon; mules still hitched and nearly frozen. Evident that he had driven into a ditch, wagon threw him out and caught under hub of the front wheel, crushed to death. He was a relative to White and Tab Ragsdale of Bonham; a good citizen and clever gentleman.
