Hal,

Norman Krischke wrote a booklet about the Salem Memorial Cemetery that can be
found at the Fayette Heritage Archives and Museum in La Grange. The booklet
includes a drawing of the church and states that the church building was
moved to Swiss Alp and is still standing. The Fayette County, Texas Heritage
book says that the Salem Lutheran Church, the Black Jack Springs Trinity
Lutheran Church, and the Swiss Alp church were all merged in 1967. Old
records for Salem Lutheran Church can be found at the Texas Wendish Museum at
Serbin.

Further information about the Salem Memorial Cemetery and the Lutheran church
at Swiss Alp can be found at the TXGenWeb site listed below.

Am interested in any source material and especially photographs of subject
church. Date it was constructed, date it was moved to Schulenburg. What
happened to the congregation of this church? Where did/do they worship after
ist was moved. Any fragment or leads appreciated. Thanks
