I've been looking for information on my Grandfather and Great-grandfather
for two years now. Seems that there isn't much for Gregg Co on the
Internet. So I appreciate any assistance I can get. Oh, and I'd like to
say thanks and Welcome to the new Coordinators.

Seeking any and all information on William Plumer "Joe" Bailey and John
Henry Bailey
Joe was born on Jan 20, 1900 somewhere in AL. Father John Henry Bailey.
This family moved to TX in 1909.
Joe had three sisters, first names unknown at this point. One married a
Ballenger, one a Vansickle, and the other a Gardner. Two families stayed in
Gregg Co., TX and the other moved to Arkansas. Joe was living in Gregg Co
in 1939 when my father was born. He later moved to Rusk Co. where he lived
until he died in 1974.
Joe has a grandson that is currently a preacher in Gregg Co, Longview TX.
I have no contact with this side of the family, so am unable to obtain
information.
Joe married Vivie Able Jimerson and they had five children. All of which
are deceased with the exception of my father, who remembers nothing of his
grandparents.

I've been unable to locate John Henry on any census. He is not listed in
the 1920 Gregg Co census that I've found. Where did this family come from?
All that I've been able to locate is Joe's grave in Rusk Co, his death
certificate that gave me his father's name. This information was given by
Joe's wife. How accurate this information is, I'm beginning to wonder.

Thanks for any help I may get.
