Yes I do have a death certificate of my grandmother, Mary (Cumby) charles
who died in Waco, TX. But I cannot locate on my grandfather John W. Charles
who had died prior to 1950. I'm told both he and Mary are both buried in
the Mt Pleasant Cemetary in Kilgore, TX. I can't get any info on his death
date which would be on his headstone. That would help a great deal. I can
find no death date on him. I know he died prior to 1950 because my parents
married that year and my Mom said he was already dead at that time. I've
contacted the county clerk in Longview and they advised me they had nothing
on him. All I could find was that there was land owned by J.W. Charles in
Kilgore which was part of his estate. He bought 79 acres in Kilgore on Jan
4, 1911 from a S.J. King. The Deed was filed Dec 29, 1930, and recorded Jan
7, 1931 with the Gregg Co. Clerk. I have a copy of the Deed. I'm not able
to locate their marriage record since I have no date.

Have you tried sending for death certificates for these folks?

They, hopefully, contain lots of useful information. Elaine and I will keep

our eyes
open for any of your names. We are in the process of seeking out new info
to
put
up on the Gregg Co site. Keep checking back.
