Three days down & two to go before the weekend. We are praying for no
rain here.
Sharon & I read a small cemetery today......Magrill-Moore Cemetery and
it is now on our site and searchable. So far we have found and listed 50
cemeteries on the Gregg Co. website. The tally is now 10 down and 40 to
go. Sharon is still working on typing up the Rock Springs Cemetery,
hopefully it will be online before the weekend is over.
I got an official confirmation today for the 1880 Gregg Co. census.
There is good news and bad news. The good news is that I am now listed
as the person transcribing the 1880 census. The bad news is that I now
have to transcribe the census. All kidding aside, I worked on
transcribing it today from a fairly good quality microfilm with lousy
handwritting. I hope I can be fairly accurate at what the names
are....but some are just not ledgible. I am devoting my one day a week
at the library to working on it, so I hope to have it online in 6-8
weeks.
The new "gateway" of the GenConnect boards seems to be working smoothly.
Thanks for keeping all your fingers and toes crossed for that one. I
surprise myself sometimes and get things right the first time!
We haven't forgotten about the Surname Board........we just haven't
figured out how to work it yet. That will be a project when we can both
sit down together and spend a day at the computer. Any ideas how it
should look or work? Remember the word simple.....because between the
two of us you get one simple mind!
