Amy,
I have a little information for you ... it may be somewhat sketchy (names
and all) but maybe you can build something from it.
My mother, Eugenia 'Jean' Stracener (Maiden Name) grew up in Betty, TX, down
the road just past Union Hill School and toward Thomas, TX . My mother is
73 now but when she was a young girl, she remembers a Charlie Barnes in
Betty, TX ... said she went to visit him with her parents, Lonnie and Iba
Stracener, when Charlie was sick. Charlie had a son named Epsie Barnes
(about the same age as my mother's parents) and he drove the school bus to
Union Hill School where everyone went. But she did not remember a Dollie
Ann Barnes. However, maybe Epsie and Dollie are brother/sister or cousins?
They would have been one generation ahead of my mother.
Epsie married MaeBelle Richardson. They had two children ... a boy and a
girl, as she recalls. Thinks the girls name was Raynelle and married a Dan
Holmes.
Hope this helps in some way.
PS I love Betty, TX. Spent many holidays and summers there with my
wonderful grandmother (Iba Parish Stracener). A wonderful time of my life.
