Regular Meeting of East Texas Genealogical Society, Tyler, TX
Saturday, November 8, 2003
Tyler Public Library - Taylor Auditorium
2:00 p.m.

Speaker: Charles Steger

Program: "The Circus Is A Family Too"

ETGS member, Charles Steger, will present a video visit with a circus
family. A family with an unusual occupation, at least unusual to most of us,
but a family similar to all others. Circus people have baby showers,
birthday parties, school graduations, weddings, funerals and a family
history. The occupation is different. It may come as a surprise that
this particular family lives at Hugo, Oklahoma. There will be a small
"pitch" for Circus Fans of America and its magazine, "White Tops" which
promotes circus history as well as current circus and circus family events.

In addition to being an ETGS member, Charles is also a member of
Caddo Lake Historical Research Committee, Morris County Historical
Commission, Cass County Historical Commission, Texas Archaeological Society,
Oklahoma Historical Society, Cass County Genealogical Society, Gregg County
Genealogical Society, Friends of Genealogy, Texarkana USA Genealogical
Society, Marion County Genealogical Society and Circus Fans of America.
Charles has also worked on research projects including the Federal
Soldiers Burial Site for Historic Jefferson Foundation and Arkansas Survey
Site 3M1409, and Interstate Highway 49 historic sites project.

After the presentation by Charles, there will be refreshments. The Computer
Interest Group of the East Texas Genealogical Society will not meet this
month.
