I am a volunteer researcher for the Texas Peace Officers Memorial. I am researching the death of Longview (Gregg-Harrison Co) City Marshal George M FABLER who was shot and killed by L L TEAGUE and his son L W at the Capitol Hotel in Marshall (Harrison Co) on 24 Sept 1886. Marshal FABLER had attempted to arrest Jeff TEAGUE 3 months earlier and the shooting was over this arrest attempt. I am interested in newspaper articles,family information and the burial location of the city marshal.
