Josiah PREWITT (1790-1841), SC>AL>TX, and his children, Polly Ann and Ira
Clement, who settled near Marshall in what is now Harrison Co., TX in 1834.
Josiah was killed in 1841 during the Regulator-Moderator War of East TX.

Polly Ann (b. abt 1820-24) married (1) Judge John M. HANSFORD in 1840, and
married (2) William AVERY in 1845, both in Harrison Co., TX. Children, if
any, not known.

Ira Clement PREWITT (1825-1887), married Harriet CRISWELL of Parker Co.about
1856, and settled in Palo Pinto Co., TX. Children: Laura, Emma, M.J. "Bud",
Rollie, Jesse, and "Mollie".
