The Boerne Area Historical Preservation Society is celebrating the season with an Entertaining Summer Fun Historical Luncheon
Come join us at the Fair Oaks Ranch Country Club Wednesday July 19, 2006. At 11:00 am
The program will feature Mrs. Michaele Thurgood Haynes curator at the Witte museum. Haynes works with all kinds of exhibits from the "Wild and Vivid Land: Stories of South Texas " and the annual Fiesta exhibits. She has a PHD from the University of Texas at Austin in cultural anthropology and teaches part-time at Trinity University and at San Antonio College.
Haynes will narrate a slide presentation covering the "Battle of Flowers starting in 1891 through the Fiesta Years." Kendall county residents wearing the beautiful gowns are
Molly Calhoun, daughter of Martha Calhoun and Ned Houston, Victoria Heard, a descendant of Dr. Ferdinand Herff Sr. and in 2006 Macee Smith daughter of Roy and Cammie Smith.
The public is invited to attend, share the exciting years of Texas History as seem through the eyes of Fiesta Fun.
